Download an example, then choose File → Open… in RGate. Run it, inspect its signals, and save a copy to explore changes of your own.
| Circuit | What to try |
|---|---|
| Full adder | Toggle A/B/Cin and inspect Sum/Cout. |
| Hierarchical 8-bit adder | Follow carries through repeated half/full/nibble adders. |
| Adjustable counter | Release RESET_N, count with ENABLE_N=0, and change STEP. |
| Serial shift register | Clock DATA into bit 0 and watch previous bits move through the displays. |
| Parity checker | Enter a byte and compare its ODD/EVEN indicators. |
| PWM dimmer | Change DUTY and measure pulse width. |
| Verilog LED chaser | Move a lit bit, pause it, reverse direction, and edit its Verilog source. |
| Verilog PWM | Edit the source module, run it, and inspect its counter and output. |
| Tiny VGA controller | Display color bars and a checkerboard generated by the timing and pattern circuit. |
| LC-3 computer | Run a program that sums 1–5, prints HI, and halts. |
| LC-3 with HDL modules | Compare a schematic CPU wrapper with editable HDL controller, datapath, register file, and memory. |
Explore an example¶
- Identify its inputs, reset, clock, and displays.
- Inspect component Properties and module interfaces.
- Add probes to the signals you want to follow.
- Start simulation and release reset when the example instructions call for it.
- Pause or step to study changes.
- Open a live module instance to follow internal signals.
- Stop, edit the circuit or Verilog source, and save your version.
